Financing Solutions
At Green Meridian Partners, we remove the financial barriers to solar adoption by offering creative, accessible financing solutions. Our goal is to help public-sector and mission-driven organizations achieve long-term energy savings without upfront capital investment.
How Our Financing Works
We use proven third-party financing models—most commonly Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)—to make solar projects affordable and risk-free for our clients.
What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?
A PPA is a long-term contract in which Green Meridian Partners develops, owns, and maintains a solar energy system on your property. You agree to purchase the electricity it produces at a stable, predictable rate that is often lower than your current utility rate.
With a PPA:
You pay only for the power, not the equipment or installation.
We handle all upfront costs, including design, permitting, equipment, labor, and construction.
We retain ownership and responsibility for maintenance, performance, and insurance throughout the contract term.
The agreement typically spans 25 to 30 years, with options for renewal, system purchase, or removal at the end of term.
How a Typical PPA Process Works
Feasibility & Design
We assess your site and energy needs, then design a custom solar solution.Financing Structure
We secure the capital—via our own resources or investor partners—and take on the financial risk of system ownership.Contract Agreement
You sign a PPA with a fixed or predictably escalating rate for the electricity the system generates.Installation & Commissioning
We oversee construction and interconnection, ensuring everything is built to the highest standards.Operations & Savings
You start saving on energy immediately, with no system maintenance responsibilities.
Additional Financing Options
Depending on your needs, we also offer:
Cash deals, for clients who prefer to purchase the system outright and retain full ownership from day one
Lease-to-own options, enabling eventual system ownership
Municipal leases, structured to meet the legal and budgetary requirements of public entities while enabling ownership and control over time
Integration with grants, bonds, or state incentives to further reduce costs
Flexible capital stack structures, incorporating tax equity, debt, and public financing tools
Why This Matters for Public Entities
With tight budgets and long planning horizons, public institutions need financing tools that are cost-effective, compliant, and transparent. Our PPA model allows schools, municipalities, and nonprofits to:
Avoid new debt or capital expenditures
Create budget predictability and long-term savings
Show environmental leadership with no operational burden
